    Thanks TomB, I play a short scale danolectro with flats. Also play with my fingers. Even though I play mostly old school country and blues I love some grit in my tone.

    I have small hands as well and making the switch to short scale made a world of difference in my playing. The only downside I have noticed is the intonation above the 12th fret is off slightly.

    I switched to flats about a year ago and found the tone I had been looking for for years. Bill wyman always played flats and I love his bass sounds.

    Give the danolectro a try. Besides most models being short scale, they weigh next to nothing. Great tone and a fast neck.

    Agreed. I own two danelectro. one with flats one with rounds. Not sure why I would ever buy anything else.
