Fender is beyond stupid for ending Vintage series. Only instruments I ever wanted and I prefer vintage radius. Wanted another Telecaster, now I don't! So stupid.

What are you leaning towards? I personally have 3 Mustangs and a Hofner.

Not so simple as buying a new neck in my case. You cannot buy a factory fretless Mustang nor can you buy replacement necks. Even Stratosphere never has them. So this is my only choice if I want a fretless Mustang, unless I go custom shop. So....

So do these work in the new Mustang PJ? I heard they don't fit.

Well I pulled the trigger and bought a Mustang PJ. So there is no turning back now. I toiled over this because my main bass was already a Mustang, but a longscale fretless would have been easier to acquire. I don't even own a long scale at this point. Anyways, hopefully it turns out well.

No taking this to someone qualified to do it right. But want to be able to ask for finish, setup and liner material.

Thanks for the input folks. The plan is to buy one of the mustang PJ's new or used and get this done. Is there a certain fretboard finish I should ask for?
