Dude, a few months ago I was in this same situation. I've got a Midnight Wine P Bass with a little badge on the back from '06 and I was like 'hmmm'. My serial number starts with MZ7 too so it just made me confused but it sounds great, American pickups or not and at the end of the day, thats all...

hell yeah, roto's are the only string i've been completely satisfied with :) i suppose DR's arent so bad, but theyre expensive as.

okay, i've finally taken some photos of my jazz bass. 08 Fender American Standard Jazz bass only bad thing about these basses is the damn finish, its gorgeous but could be scratched by cotton. sorry about the bad quality photos, i took them on a phone.

Well this isn't actually my bass, but mine looks exactly the same :smug: I picked up my '08 Fender US standard Jazz this morning and haven't had a chance to get any photos yet :) I'm going to put a 3 ply black scratchplate on as soon as i find one... :) So... do I qualify? Haha.
