    Wireless Systems

I second georgestrings' vote. X2 XDS has been flawless for almost a year. I use an Energizer in my transmitter, and a 1-Spot (Boss-type connector) for my receiver. Receiver sits on my M13 nicely with just a patch cable. I get six 1-hour sets out of one 9v Energizer, and I get the batteries...

Are Sennheiser wireless cables compatible with Line 6 X2 XDS?

Thanks for the clear explanation. Both of my stage basses are active, even though I play them almost totally flat. I've found a source for really h-d sennheiser cables at a fair price. The only thing left to do is try one. Then I can report any differences (or lack of) back here. I run a...

Are Sennheiser wireless cables compatible with Line 6 X2 XDS?

Thanks, Chris. The price at Best-tronics is actually better than at Line 6, and has gold plugs. Don't know how they compare in thickness w/o seeing them side-by-side. One has Mogami cable and the other has Evidence Audio Melody cable. I bookmarked it. The burning question (still) is... Are...

Are Sennheiser wireless cables compatible with Line 6 X2 XDS?

Thanks Randy. This is my first wireless sytem, so please bear with me. Please explain a little more, if you don't mind. I'm not getting that "fullrange" vs "effect of the capcitance of the cable" options. My X2 was pretty much plug and play, so I would be looking for something virtually...

Are Sennheiser wireless cables compatible with Line 6 X2 XDS?

Thanks Tom. I saw some of them. And Line 6 has the hd ones, too. But there are many more choices for the Sennheiser cable. Ditto on it not being a standard balanced cable. I think it has a cap in it.

Are Sennheiser wireless cables compatible with Line 6 X2 XDS?

Searched this forum first, but didn't see any mention of this. I have one of the later model Line 6 X2's, which I love btw, and the cable seems to be not as flimsy as some I have seen. Maybe they upgraded it..? Nonetheless, I always carry spare just about everythings, and I want a backup...

Your opinions on a wireless system, please (correct forum?)

Thanks MasterFlash. I took your previous post to heart. It's amazing that I got this unit for $110 brand new. When I first started thinking about going wireless, I figured I'd have to spend 300-400 bucks to get anything worth a crap. Welcome to the world of digital, is all I can say...

    Back In the Wireless

In the thread I started, we discussed the Brace vs Line 6. Well I got the Line 6, mainly because of the 9v system (I can use my 1 spot, and I get 9v battries dirt cheap), and they last longer than the two AA's in the Brace. My guitar player has the Brace. I got two gigs from the 9v, and he...

Got my Line 6 X2 XDS just in time for a Tuesday and Wednesday gig. Played 3 1-hour sets each night. Used same 9v Energizer for both gigs, without a hitch. Still showing some life left..... Receiver works perfectly with my 1-Spot. My guitar player works for a phone company that buys huge...

Thanks for all your help and suggestions. I bought (ordered) a Line 6 X2 XDS95 today, from an online Line 6 dealer. Offered $110 w/free ship, and he accepted. Should be here by Wednesday. There is still a Brace Audio one out there for $129, if anyone is interested. I considered buying...

Some tidbits from Brace Audio customer service. Just FYI. "We have over 64,000 channels. Line 6 has 6. You never have to manually choose or tune ours – it is automatic and it frequency hops to always find the strongest signal. They come out of the box linked like a Bluetooth and you are...

    Brace Audio DWG1000

Sorry to drudge up an old thread, but I just can't seem to make up my mind between the Line 6 X2, and the Brace Audio. In a club band, so long distance is not an issue. (I just want more freedom on stage, and ability to walk in front of stage for sound checks.) Neither is price, since I can...

According to their respective sites, the Line 6 is 10Hz-12kHz, and the Brace Audio is 10Hz-15kHz.

I agree. I'm torn between the longer lasting 9v battery vs the shorter lasting, but cheaper, AA battery in the Brace. Been a musician a long, long time, so I know how it's always "this cheap model is crap. Go with this nicer one" goes. Most of the time it's true, but sometimes it's overkill...
