    First neck build

Honestly, not one thought about it! I guess that it will be simmilar to the 4 piece walnut that it origonaly had witch will undoubtebly be heavy. There are many things I have not decided on yet like the board metirial, head stock face veneers, inlays? So many choices when you can do what...

    First neck build

So a recent bad buy on my part has left me with the only solution being a new neck. The bass is a Warwick thumb b.o. 5 string broad neck. I have decided to go "retro" Warwick and build the seven piece bubinga/wenge style. So i know that Warwick uses some type alloy supports in their necks...

SOLD FS: Warwick Thumb NT 4 with Flight Case

What a beautiful 'wick! The wenge/bubinga neck is the best! I wish I could sell enough gear to swoop this one up 'cause I have a feeling this one won't take long to find a new home. Ahhhh, I wish it could grab this one!

So is the concesus that Ernie Ball rounds die too quick

Wow! Please forgive me if what I type has already been typed in this thread, but, I will use no other strings. True, they are very bright at first. No string lasts forever. There are so many veriables to this. I actually prefer the sound they give after a week or two of daily use. In a...

    broken truss rod, ahhhhh!

Yeah, the whole thing seems to spin. I can hear it spin about halfway down the neck if I listen carefully. It seems odd to me though that the truss rod spins when the neck is and is not at tension. Man, I am so bummed. That vidio was cool though, I'm sure it will come in...

    broken truss rod, ahhhhh!

So this is a problem! Long story short, I just bought this bass that turned out to be too good to be true. Its a warwick thumb bolt on 5er broadneck. The truss rod just spins in both directions. :hmm: Its an 07 so I belive it to be the 2 way. Can this be fixed/replaced without...

    Why not polycrylic?

Wow! Nice work, and very reasonable pricing too! Why did I have to look, now I want I want. Scroll bass, enough said. :hyper:

    Why not polycrylic?

All good stuff guys, thank you all. I've waited, and waited, and waited for my most recent refin to fully dry. So far so good with using minwax polycrylic however there are some obvious pros and cons. Pros; NO SMELL! Ease of use, and relative low cost. Cons; it has come out a bit milky...

    Why not polycrylic?

So I have been experimenting with different laquers and have not had any issues with polycrylic. Is there something I havent heard or found that would make this a poor choice for a long lasting finish?

    Hartke LH1000 tube change?

Helo everyone, I have recently purchased a new Hartke LH100 and am concidering a pre-tube change. This subject is very new to me as I have been using solid state power and pre-amps in the past. Having read as many varying opinions as there may be brands of tube manufacturers, I'm looking...
