Also - here's a photo before I removed the neck to do a little tinkering - it's my first build (bought neck though)

Sadowsky on-board pre, but replaced with a barrel jack - help

Thanks for replying CT - This is why I'm going nuts - I have been connecting it (admittedly with alligator clip wires) as per the R, T, S config, but I just get a horrible hum and no noise from the bartolini's when I tap them with a magnetic screwdriver (Which I know works because I tested it on...

Thanks for responding Unfortunately you can't see anything with a barrel jack - unlike a normal switchcraft where its all visible

Sadowsky on-board pre, but replaced with a barrel jack - help

Hi all After installing the pre in my new build, I took off the switchcraft jazz bass plate jack to replace it with a barrel jack that inserts in the side of the body. Initially my mistake was ordering a mono jack, so after much wasting of solering time, realised I needed a stereo barrel jack...

    SADOWSKY clear pickguard - mounting?

so, no offense meant, but I'm guessing you've never actually bought double sided tape. Its several mms thick, very visible and leaves a disgusting grimy sticky film residue that sucks to remove (I won't even use it to attach templates for routing). If you see the 2nd reply to my question, that...

    SADOWSKY clear pickguard - mounting?

Hi All Just been watching a bunch of you tube vids on 2021 and other year model hi-end Sadowsky's and notice on the models that have a clear plexi pickguard, it is not mounted with any screws. Given (a) the clarity of the pickguard and (b) the fact I can't imagine anyone using any type of glue...

Double Bass Which upright bass pickup delivers the most original, earthly, woody, acoustic sound?

Sorry - I just knew this would end with a hundred different types, and TBH, nothing but a super expensive microphone going through an even more expensive hi-fidelity PA setup will ever sound like your bass only louder. That said, I own and use a Realist soundclip becasue (a) you can adjust the...

    NBD and ARIA help

And now I have adjusted and oiled the neck, it is simply beautiful feeling, and lovely to play. Yet to plug it in (my amp is elsewhere), but as there are no other pick-up options without routing it (check out the weird ass jazz bass pickups they use - screws in the end of each PU) I'll have to...

    NBD and ARIA help

Not really - the logo design is identical to all the other 70s sunburst rosewood Aria Jazz bass photos I have seen on the internet. If they were made by that factory until 86, then according to the serial number info I was able to obtain, in which the first number indicates the year - then it...

    NBD and ARIA help

So, just picked up this nice ARIA JB for $350 AUD (Australian pesos) - I took the pickguard off to check the truss rod worked when I was buying it, but unfortunately the allen keys the owner had were not short enough to fit in, so I bought it on a gentleman's agreement that he would let me...

Dating a rare fender jazz bass

Totally agree with this post - seriously suspect issues, the neck is rubbish, and the bass is not a good one. Plus it might even be a Japanese made one according to the serial number (see my original post). $800 is WAAAAY too many pesos.
