It's always buffered bypass, no matter where the tails switch is set. I don't know the wrong info got out there about any true bypass - I think some store or website made that up!

Correct. In mono-in/stereo-out it splits your signal whether you're in effect mode or bypass mode.

There's no difference between the two versions. Same PCBs, different paint jobs on the enclosures. The 69/76 numbers refer to our UPC for tracking the different enclosures.
