Yeah i usually have the treble set above everything else, bass at around 3 and mids at 12. I'll still probably sell the head for a new one, just because i'd like something a lot more sturdy and trustworthy. Would buying a 350-500 watt amp @ 4 ohms work well with two 8 ohm cabs?

I ended up just getting some chromes, and they sound pretty nice actually. Not the full on growl i wanted but it does better than my previous strings.

Yeah i just listened to a few demos and they sound nice, I didn't think flatwounds would get me a tone like that. I've only ever tried a set of Fender Flatwounds and they were pretty much just thumpy. I play in a punk band though, so i think that flats might give me a hard time being versatile...

I tried the Rumble and didn't hate, a little too middy though. Let's keep in mind though that i'm a 16 year old on a low budget. I won't be buying more than one cab in the forseeable future.
