    I played like you for years, after I went to 5-Strings I learned to mute bei pressing/leaning the Thumb against the Strings, just about Gwizdala does. I play Rock/Soul/Funk/Jazz, this Technique is not just for fiddling around, it works for „real“ Bass Playing ;)
