This was part of a package multi effects pedal that I mainly bought for the looping and metronome functions. I was hoping to save some money if I could use it to record.

The only bass I have is a vintage Haegstrom from 1963. So, no. I may consider letting someone play it if they allow me to use their amp to test the electronics.

After some research, I may just need head phones. I may or may not buy some.

A follow up question since I'm new to this. Do you have to have a DAW before you'll have any sound from the interface?

Maybe I'm cynical, but I've always believed no one will treat your stuff as good as you do and I never loan anything to anyone
