    Interesting, unusual finishes...

Bowling ball swirls are damn awesome, and is it me or do I see some subtle bursting?

Pics of you playing your bass - Part 3

Just some random shots that I've had, with the pic with the Spector being the latest shot. Park City Music Hall, Bridgeport, CT, 2023: Worcester Palladium Upstairs, Worcester, MA, Halloween, 2023 (also that wig was a real pain in the ass) Koto, Salem, MA, 2024: Webster Underground...

    SPECTOR® Owners Club

This has probably been asked already but would Elixir SS Nanowebs fit Euro 5LXes? I'm trying to not repeat a situation where the B string's wraps do not fully go over the nut.

The official "Show your basses" thread part 19!

That would be my 2007 Phoenix PH-5, made by Tune over in Japan. LowendLobster did a good review on it, though at the time of reviewing, the bass had dead strings; that was my fault and I should've changed the strings prior. Phenomenal bass with a top end that can tear your head off and excellent...

    SPECTOR® Owners Club

Finally decided to get a Spector after eyeing them for years at this point. Was waiting to find one at a decent price and this one came up on Guitar Center's used section under what I was going to pay. 2018 (I think) Euro 5LX, completely stock. I am planning on swapping the preamp out for an LHZ...

Finally jumped on the Spector train with a Euro 5LX and I'm loving it so far. Now time to save up for an LHZ...

    Peavey Mini Max Head Thread

I’ll probably get a rack tray and zip tie it or screw it on there. In the meantime, the knock-off Pelican case I got at Harbor Freight will protect it nicely. It’s certainly way better than the carrying bag that the amp came with.

    Peavey Mini Max Head Thread

Sorry to bump the thread, but, well, I just got the version 2 of this amp as a back up while my 1001RB-II is in the shop. Quick question; I eventually would like to rack mount this amp; what are some good rack ears for this thing since Peavey does not sell a mounting kit for this amp?

    NBD Peavey T-40

Wow! That's a hot bass. I actually like the green knobs on it; I know they're not original but they really pop against the black pickguard.

    NBD - TUNE Japan

I think the majority of Japanese Tune 5ers are 18mm; my PH-5 is 18mm and is very nice for pick playing. Not sure about the Korean 5s, and I know you can order them with Hipshot A style bridges which are variable, but 18 seems to be the standard. OP, congrats on the bass. These are seriously...

What bass would you buy in a heartbeat if it existed

ESP Horizon 5 string but with a Hazlab 2 band, EMG 40DCs, and a carbon fiber neck. I mean knowing ESP they can make it work but I need to throw a whole armored truck full of money at them for it to happen.

A different take on the "Top (x) Basses" poll threads

Warwick, Ibanez, Spector, and ESP. All very instrumental for rock and metal in the 90s. If you want to go back a bit further include BC Rich and Jackson.

    Stingray Classic Crisis

Good to know. There you go, OP; get a USA Sub. It is a USA Stingray with a much more durable (albeit ugly to some) finish and a glossy neck (which can be sanded down).

    Stingray Classic Crisis

Was gonna say this before my power gave out briefly. USA Subs would be the way to go. Though that said, I remember reading here that the preamps used on Subs at the time were not the same as the classic 2 band but rather the one used on the Sabre. Now is that true or is it complete hogwash?
