    Washburn Bantam XB???

Is there a reason for needing to find such specific amounts of frets and knobs and numbers on an almost identical bass? You certainly found a bass very similar to one that you had in the past. Cant that be good enough? Is there really a need to dig into an assortment of details when you could...

Receiving a Bass heavier than advertised

If Talkbass had an emoticon that was eyes rolling, I would post it here. I have no certainty that my postage scale is any more accurate. Are you sure that your scale is so accurate?

Not getting the p bass sound I want from my Yamaha bb234

I would bring your bass to a music store and compare it to other P style basses that are on the wall. Without a control, any attempt to meet your goals will be blind and deaf. Just at least buy a set of strings while you are there. #SupportLocalRetailers

    Ibanez Musician Bass Club

I finally found a friend with 3d printer. I can now confirm that the bjelkeman pickup cover print files for mid 80s pickups work well. Now what pickup to try under there??? https://youmagine.com/designs/ibanez-roadstar-rb760-pickup-cases#files

    Is this a rare bass?

If you like it, play it. If it's rare, it's unlikely that anyone wants to pay any extra for it. Korean Washburn ain't Pokemon.

Anybody ever tried WD-40 Specialist Contact Cleaner?

Also, most scratchy pots are fine not using any product. just unplug, and turn them up and down 50-100 times. That often works perfectly with no cleaning liquids.

Anybody ever tried WD-40 Specialist Contact Cleaner?

"scratchy pots when wiggling the cable"??? that sounds like a jack issue. I wouldn't worry about using a specialty product on a jack or plug. For pots switches and faders I use deoxit F. It's expensive, but the needle tip bottle is the way to go. I have no idea why the aerosol can is the...

Amp head recommendations with low-Z balanced input for tuba/electric bass player?

I would consider buying just a single stand alone powered PA speaker for the tuba/bass. most have two XLR 1/4" combo inputs with separate volume controls. Use a preamp pedal for the bass if desired. that would work, and bonus, you are now half way to owning a better PA system that could...

Strip then stain + oil [re]finish a modern Ibanez EHB?

I agree with the statements above regarding basswood. You say "hand sand". have you ever tried to hand sand a tough finish from a bass? even with a power orbital and detail sander and the correct multiple grit sand papers, between the horns and around that bridge section will be a PITA. It...

beginning to get better at collaborating with my AI vocalist...

There are plenty of groups that celebrate "generative music AI" I'm glad to see that this group of human musicians is not one of them. I've also been glad to hear about music streaming services demoting the AI (cheers to TIDAL) Do AI folks also root for the robots destroying humans in SCI-FI...

Looking for a small multi-use amp that will work for bass

I would choose something from the Roland KC line. built for keyboards, but absolutely a nice and honest full range amp suitable for bass. It has XLR for microphone and a little mixer, so it can be an entire tiny PA system great for for small practice situations, or even speeches / toasts in...

Do single cut basses are exclusive for pros?

I get it. I aint proud of myself, but I'll when I see a fancy expensive deluxe looking bass on a stand before the band hits the stage, I'll think to myself... Dang, they better be good. But the quantity of cutaways is generally not part of that equation.

This one is a little different.

I have an older Ibanez Musician Alphanso Johnson model that was originally fretless beyond the 12th (mine had more frets added at some point) The problem to me seems to be 'fretting' at the first fretless position. the action would be quite high, the entire height of a fret too much, so much...
