The Seymour Duncan website has a comparison of their different pick ups. The Steve Harris appears to be very similar to the Vintage, but with more mid range. Invalid Link Removed

I just got a set of Seymour Duncan "vintage" p-bass pickups. Does it matter if I flip one around, or a particular one on the bridge side, etc? I'm thinking it doesn't matter, but want to be sure before I take them out and start playing around with them.

Any tips on drilling a hole from the rear cavity to the bridge in order to run the ground wire? All the instructions I find on installing the pots/knobs say to tighten the bridge on top of the ground wire.

Seems that the template from bestbassgear.com got a bad review for being too tight of a fit. Well, that is exactly the kind of fit I want. I'd rather spend a week slowly trimming out a corner just to get the pups to sit in the cavity than have a gaping hole in my guitar's face. ;-)
