Newbie here..Recently acquired a p-bass with these pups, they sound great compared to stock. I don't have a lot of experience with different pups, but they fit in nicely with the r&b/funk stuff my band does. Would be interested to hear thoughts about this, suggestions for other pups suited to this genre.. great site!

Seymour Duncan Steve Harris pups

The Seymour Duncan website has a comparison of their different pick ups. The Steve Harris appears to be very similar to the Vintage, but with more mid range.

I've had a set in my P for 2 years or so now. Love them for everything. You say they fit in nicely and sound great. Why the interest in changing them?

It's not so much that I want to change them, I do like them , more of a desire to learn about what's out there and how they differ, compare. I'm a guitar player , but also love to play bass. I'll probably stay with what I have.. thanks for your input and welcome

This. Although it is really more low mids, than true mids. Overall, it is a bit louder than a vintage P-Bass pickup.
