    Why not install it for 18v from scratch? Is there any disadvantage from using it on 18v?

    I'd say go for it. You can get an Ibanez SR or Sire M7 in the future because they're still produced, however the Yamaha is discontinued and harder to find as far as I know. Let the gas embrace you!
