I'd personally say stay w/ the 66's. You'll get your fingers used to them after a while. I just call mine the +1 callouses of smiting. :) IMO, the RS55s are too "bright" sounding and don't really have that growly mid range bite.

No way to avoid latency when using USB like that. It's horrific audio bus thanks to where it sits on the chipset and how it requires the CPU for every transaction, and yada yada yada... I've just gotten in to the habit of using headphones as monitors.

True, but every technique you learn is one you can add to your own arsenal. That just helps you define a signature style of yourself. We're all thiefs and magpies. :)

don't base anything about geddy's tone from saturday's show. the white river echonasium is gggggooooooddddd awful for rock shows. we had ear plugs and his sound was fine, but obviously lacking a little highs due to the plugs. seriously, that damn place is just awful.
