avoid overwound pickups, they lack top end. Fralins tend a little overwound, even at what they call their standard wind. Honestly, the humble Fender Player I and Player II and I think also Ventura I/II/III p pickups all have a lot of top end. Boutique not always better.

Black looks great. Aged pearloid looks great on a black body with rosewood fingerboards too. I prefer aged bc plain white seems to starkly contrasting with black. Parchment I like with black (or any color, just about) more than white.
