    Newsted's ABG on "Nothing Else Matters"?

    You can get a look at it at about the 0:45 and 3:08 marks in the official vid. Given that it's got the triangular sound hole with detailing and the look of the headstock, my best guess is that it's a Gretsch 6176. See here for comparison: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

    What's so great about the old school funk sound?

    Oh hell yes, how I miss that stuff. I keep going back to the first two albums (I think Zender was only 19(!) on EOPE), while (mostly) ignoring the others. I keep wishing Zender would hurry up and release something like that again.
