Color Inconsistencies (Squier) Common With Retailers??

Thanks. I think I'll take it in for a "setup consultation, and see if the excuse that "it's different lighting" holds up. But I've taken this bass into my closet and it still lights up pink like a glow stick. :)

Color Inconsistencies (Squier) Common With Retailers??

thank you! That's really helpful. I still suspect that for the online retailers that aren't GC or Sweetwater, the make them in different factories or will lower price specs. I've been chatting with a Fender rep, and he said that I could always exchange it and hope it was different, or go for...

Color Inconsistencies (Squier) Common With Retailers??

Hi, I lurked on a Squier Bronco Bass in Tahitian Coral for a few months. I tried it out at a few stores when I happened to be in there. Loved the color - it's a coral with a vintage 60s vibe. Imagine my disappointment when I ordered it from my favorite retailer where I have an account. The...

i shouldn't have.... but shell pink bronco pre-ordered

Beautiful color! I was tempted. I did just buy the Bronco in Tahitian Coral, and found out the hard way that somehow the color is variable. What looked like a true orangey coral in GC, is somehow NEON Barbie Pink from another retailer. I regret not waiting for the Shell Pink.

Non-Diva Lead Singers: Do they exist?

I find that the lead singers who actually play instruments, onstage or not, are usually more down to earth and can relate to the other players better, and understand everyone's role.

Does Anyone Else Have Dyscalculia? Close to Giving Up

Hey! So now that I'm out sitting in a bit, jamming a lot, my dyscalculia is becoming an issue for me. It's not a commonly-known learning disorder, but it affects musicians in deciphering music-related numbers, understanding directions, processing things quickly. My particular issue as a bass...

    Who's not buying a bass in 2023?

I am SO buying another bass in 2023. Love what I have now, A Fender Aerodyne, MM Stingray Sterling, and a Squier. However, someone mentioned Reverend to me lately, and now I'm in love. Who isn't going to buy a bass in 2020? (and it's sparkly.) So, yes, buying one in 2023, bought two in 2022...

There is something about Ernie Ball Slinkys (?)

I just got a Fender Aerodyne recently, and the Fender strings (I assume are Fender,) are wonderful! Feel a bit more playable than the Slinkies.

There is something about Ernie Ball Slinkys (?)

I bought my Music Man Stingray bass and it came with Slinkies, since then I've put them on another bass (a Squier.). My Fender Aerodyne has whatever they put on there. I LOVE the feeling of the Slinkies! However, this week I sat in and played someone bass that had LaBella Halfwounds, and I was...

Anyone surprised by the return of headless popularity?

Apropos to nothing regarding playing these, I have a very deep-seated, irrational, aversion to headless basses. It has nothing to do with playing them, but looking at them freaks me out like someone chopped their head off. Okay... carry on...:dead:

Bass teacher vs bass mentor? Suggestions needed.

Love this idea! And it's a goal for the new year. I'm going to start looking casually at people who might be a good fit.

Well thank you! For both the blog post, which was fascinating. And the cornball soundtrack.

Bass teacher vs bass mentor? Suggestions needed.

So, an update (hope this is where to do this!) After writing this, and in the past few days I believe I have what I was looking for! In the first case, I was introduced to a great pro bassist who has some nice credits, and has agreed to tailor lessons to what I need. Hopefully that will go...
