Originally I just tested the outer most magnets which had the same polarity. Did some more testing across all the magnets and this is what I found. The magnets I used for the test did not have North and south labeled so the N and S are just relative polarity. |-----------------|...

Did the magnet test and they were both the same polarity. So it’s just a matter of swapping the wires? I’ll try and report back

I bought the bass used so not sure if anyone did any rewiring or replaced any coils. Thanks I will try this weekend as I didn't bring the bass with me this week.

Pickup resistance: 4.89 k on the Bass Side 5.05 k on the Treble Side. not sure where to measure to get the output jack resistance. Like I said wiring isn't my strong suit. Also I feel like an idiot for not mentioning this but the Bass is a 5 string.

Thanks for the tip. I'll post results for DC resistance for the output and the pickup on Friday. Hopefully you're correct. Sure I won't be able to fix it myself but at least I know I'm not crazy and it can be fixed.

Hey, I'm having an issue with my Fender American P Bass. I'm getting a constant 60 cycle hum. Volume is about half that of a Jazz bass solo'd on one pickup. There is continuity on the ground and I have fully shielded the control cavity (sound existed before and after shielding). Any ideas...
