I would imagine that what they want to do is sell the bass for the price listed, in which case, they are not successfully doing what they want with their property.

Because you're relying on a volunteer base, which may or may not be appreciable in size. We went through this last year, and when you're going on the third consecutive month of no one hearing the bass or the sounds techs forgetting to turn on the subs, it goes from exasperating to soul-crushing...

I started on bass and monkeyed around with guitar on occasion until last year. The church I play for was in dire need of another guitarist and we already had a wealth of bass players, so I bought a decent guitar and started learning. Lately, I've been filling in for rhythm and (sometimes) lead...

I'll vouch for the Franklin strap. My workhorse bass is pretty hefty and I have an old back injury that I'm constantly having to keep in check. The Franklin strap helps out quite a bit with that while looking reasonably stylish.

Just out of curiosity, is there anyone else in this thread from CNY?

They're definitely project basses and require a good degree of elbow grease, but the results are one-of-a-kind and can sound and play great.

To this day, I still listen to Savior Machine's Legend albums on a fairly regular basis. It's hard to find that kind of vision and commitment to a continuous work even in contemporary secular music, let alone Christian rock. That and Clayton's work with Ayreon was pretty incredible.

I would commission a duo from Xylem. All of their basses are absolute works of art, and I'd love to have a 6er and the matching unlined fretless. I'd have trouble deciding between their Zio and Calliope models though.
