Hurricane Ian and the cone of uncertainty

Be careful out there with your travels. It could be ugly. A side story - I had 2 sons in the Houston area during Harvey. They rode it out with significant flood waters. One put his kids in a blow up pool to cross the street in waist deep water to stay upstairs in a neighbors 2-story. The other...

Hurricane Ian and the cone of uncertainty

Stay safe Marley. I'm on the other side of FL, but yeah, looks like a nasty storm. I keep my eye on the NHC website. Storm surge forecast was just updated. What would I do on your coast? Try to make my best risk assessment, then probably go to TX and noodle on my son's Les Paul for a few days.

Love your photo. When the sun is low in the evening Rainier lights up in a spectacular display. I grew up in Puyallup :)

Haven’t visited for a while, hope everyone here is doing well. An Atlas V launched from Cape Canaveral at 6:29 EDT this morning. These were taken from my neighborhood in St Augustine ~115 miles north.

So what are you Paying for Gas in your neighborhood? (No Politics Please)

Topped off my tundra with non-ethanol on Monday in north Florida. 4.49/g. Unleaded was 4.19, now it’s 4.39.

After 40 do you start falling apart

Beautiful! That was a 2-person chair and no enclosure last time I was there. I don’t think I’ve ever seen it green either :D

After 40 do you start falling apart

I grew up in Puyallup, Crystal Mt was the nearest skiing and Green Valley is well known to me. Back in high school I was enjoying the icy moguls, crossed the tips, fell from the top of one mogul to the top of one below it, hit my left shoulder hard. It hurt, but nothing broke, so like a 17-year...

Sorry to read this. Vertigo can be debilitating. Look up BPV or BPPV. If this is the cause, there are a couple of physical positioning maneuvers that can resolve the symptoms. Mr first bout 15 years ago lasted 3 weeks when I didn’t know about this. My second bout 5 years ago I did, and within...

    What's On Your Workbench?

Thanks :D. This is sort of a practice experimental piece, before I start cutting up an ebony board for the inlays.

    What's On Your Workbench?

I’ve enjoyed turning bowls and other pieces for 45 years, but I’ve never made a knob. Both of us have a horizon to expand .

    What's On Your Workbench?

Nothing bass related on my workbench, but I recently had some wood turning fun. Padauk and maple.
