    Top 5 Live Albums???

I love MK III live albums. The unedited Paris concert was released a few years ago, and it's clear that Hughes was by far more annoying than Coverdale. His ramblings between songs are hilarious. "Al Right!!! Next one is a sweaty rock'n'roller, and i don't wanna see any fat people around after...

    Top 5 Live Albums???

Absolutely Live. It's pretty good, but i personally prefer the unedited performances.

    Top 5 Live Albums???

Bob Marley - Live! Probably the best sonical anti-depression pill ever made. King Crimson - The Great Deceiver 1973-74 It's hard to choose between this and Absent Lovers, but when i got GD i hardly listened to anything else for many months. The Who - Live at Leeds Rock 'n' Roll...

    Greg Lake

Sorry, Freudian slip - i was just playing my Grabber at the same time!

    Greg Lake

It's a Grabber, as you know by now. But i've seen some photos with Greg playing Rickenbacker. I guess they were taken during the Trilogy tour. Does anybody know did he actually ever record anything with Ric? Endless Enigma is one song that sounds to my ears like it might be one.

    Not so talked about bassists...

He played very well with King Crimson too. You can hear it on the live albums. It's astonishing considering that he had only played bass for months!

    Rudy Sarzo

Correct me if i'm wrong, but didn't Rudy played fretless when he first joined Ozzy's band? He plays fretted bass on Speak of The Devil is fretted, but how's about Tribute?

    Not so talked about bassists...

Agree. His lines on Message To Love and Earth Blues are incredible. Nice tone too. He even used Ampeg rig on some of the summer 1970 recordings. Prakash John is one of the guys that gets mentioned not-so-often IMO. He played some really good stuff on Lou Reed's Rock 'n' Animal and on Alice...

My 6-disc box is on it's way! I can hardly wait to hear the new mixes!

    Gary Thain of Uriah Heep

He mainly used Fender Jazz with flat wounds. I've also seen some photos of him playing a Thunderbird. During the Keef Hartley Band he used Impact-amps and when he joined Uriah Heep he started to use Acoustics. Pretty much the same gear John Paul Jones used in the early days of Zep. I guess he...

Recommened flats on a jazz bass

I've tried many flatwounds on my jazz bass but for the last few years i've used D'addario Chromes Regular Light Cauge (45-100). They both feel and sound good.
