    Owning Two Exact Same Basses

I'm definitely guilty of the duplicate bass syndrome. Most of them have different pickups though.

What's your rig of choice for this weekend? Part 2.

I'll probably have this setup for the next couple of weeks. A friend of mine is coming over for a bit of a jam session so something from this group ought to do the trick. I'm thinking the G-K plus the Ray34 for a few Echo And The Bunnymen as well as a few Cure tunes. Then the Mustang plus...

2-Band Stingray Owners - What's your instrument EQ setting?

I forgo to mention my settings. I actually try to EQ my sound on the amp as much as possible. I will use the Stingrays preamp settings for only minor adjustments. In other words, not much at all. And EQing is always amp dependent and mentioned above.

2-Band Stingray Owners - What's your instrument EQ setting?

It depends on the amp I'm using. Some amps, like G-K, are on the bright side. Others, such as the Fender Rumble, are the opposite. Generally speaking, I prefer the sound of a Stingray with a G-K amp. Pure Heaven.

Amp Guts Photos - Official Thread - Lets see those pics

This is not a bass amp. It's a 1969 Fender Twin Reverb. Had it serviced by Kevin Silva of Uncle Albert's amps here in Indianapolis.

    What ya think UFO’s

Whatever these UFO things are, I don't believe them to be a naturally occurring phenomena, such as flash lighting, static electricity or swamp gas. I believe they are manufactured somehow by some one or some thing. Naturally occurring things in nature don't travel at 7x the sound barrier and...

    What ya think UFO’s

I am absolutely fascinated with this topic. Having been a big fan of Sci-Fi and Horror films since I was a kid, this is nothing short of amazing to me, but I always thought it was a product of Hollywood to put butts in seats. This is huge! I don't know why everyone isn't talking about this or...

How many of your basses are 100% ready-to-go? None of mine ever are :-P

Well, the one in post #60 has been up and running for about a week and another is on the bench awaiting pickups and electronics. It may be finished over the weekend and then there are no more foreseeable projects for the rest of the year.

    GK vs Rumble

I have a G-K MB210-II and a Rumble 500C. I find that different basses pair better with one or the other. For example, my Stingrays prefer the G-K. P basses sound better with the Rumble. And Jazz basses sound great with any damn thing!

Arthritis / short or medium scale recommendation

Here's my suggestion, for whatever its worth. Don't play any notes on the first couple of frets for a few months. If a song requires a note on the first two frets, play it an octave higher or downtune the bass so that it emulates a short scale bass. You can also downtune and use a capo to mark...

The best of both worlds! Fake relics and gooey stickers. Lovely.
