Fender James Jamerson 62 Precision - limited run?

Unless you are able to personally see and play this model I recommend a hard pass. The quality has ranged from total garbage to Custom Shop+. Some are heavy as hell through featherweight. I got very lucky on mine.

    Sandberg UMBO

The fretboard is an ebony slab over a Canadian Maple neck. The body is 2 pieces of solid swamp ash per Sandberg specifications.

    Sandberg UMBO

It is swamp ash. It is ebony. Too smooth and dark for anything else.

    Sandberg UMBO

It sounds great. It has DiMarzios in it. Not thin. But a thick bass sound can be achieved. I have flats on it.

    Sandberg UMBO

It’s not active so I’m assuming there’s a by pass plus a couple of capacitors that are changing the tone from a dirty to a more compressed sound. This one predates the squattier body style. The ebony board predates them using pao. It is so dark and smooth. I didn’t wait long to put in that...

    Sandberg UMBO

Thanks. I’m sure it’s Ebony. I compared it to my 90’s Les Paul bass. It was one of those inaccurate descriptions that you get from Guitar Center.

Sandberg Appreciation Post - Show us those German Basses!

I had a blonde UMBO years ago that weighed easily 11-12 pounds that was alder. This one is 8 lbs or less. It looks to be swamp ash with an ebony board.

My new Sandberg UMBO. A super light, great playing, fantastic sounding bass. Labella flats complete the package.

    Sandberg UMBO

I just obtained this Sandberg UMBO. It was described as having an alder body with a rosewood fretboard. I dont think so. It appears to be swamp ash with an ebony fretboard. It’s super light. 8lbs or less. I don’t think it has the original pickups but has DiMarzios. They sound great. Please...

2015 Gibson Les Paul Bass Pickup

I have a 2015 Gibson Les Paul Standard Bass. I recently acquired this bass. The neck pickup sounds fine however the bridge pickup sounds weak and thin. Is this just the way these pickups are? I mainly play the neck/middle pick up but if there is a problem with the bridge pickup I would like to...

Gibson 2021 Non Reverse Thunderbird - A short review

Just picked up a Vintage Cherry. Couldnt resist the bass because of its light weight. It came in at 7 lbs 2 ozs. Plays and looks great. I did replace the bridge with the Hipshot. I have them on all my Gibsons.

Any love for Hofner club basses?

You may want to try Barry Clark Music in Tomah, WI. He has a ton of parts and a great guy to deal with.

Those Traynors are great I play through a 300 and 200. Nothing beats those tubes. 300 goes through a 2-15 bottom while the 200 through a 2-10 1-15 bottom
