My default setting is panning towards the P (neck pickup) about 15-20%.

Just got the TM5 back. Had the Delanos replaced with Black Labels. Much better sounding to my ear. The Delanos were nice but dark and very modern. The black labels seem to have more bloom to the notes, a little more vintage sounding too.

Would you also say they are aggressive and they burp ?

I’m asking because I have some Dimarzio Ultra J on my jazz bass and find them still too quiet.

The Delanos are very modern and hi-fi. They have great note definition and clarity. I wouldn't call them aggressive though. I previously had a US Musicman Sterling with ceramic pickups and they were much more agressive.

Wow, great answer, thanks for that.

I heard a few times some ceramic pickups would be the way to go for an aggressive sound, I might give it a try.

I had a blonde UMBO years ago that weighed easily 11-12 pounds that was alder. This one is 8 lbs or less. It looks to be swamp ash with an ebony board.
