Another thing you can try is running the 212av in parallel with a 4ohm resistor off the amp's 2ohm tap. You can get them pretty cheap on Amazon but will need to solder up a plug to it. Should effectively turn the V4B into a 50 watt amp, which may still be too loud, but worth a try.

If you're anywhere near Cincinnati or Northern Kentucky, you're welcome to come over and try mine. I have an SVT, V4-B, and 212AV.

I have no experience with the Sadowsky amp. But don't overlook the V4-B. I play in a fairly loud band and it's all I need most of the time. My SVT only comes along if we're playing outdoors. The new Fender Bassman's are worth a look too.

I own an Avatar B212 NEO and an Ampeg SVT-212AV. Both cabs sound great with my SVT-CL, but I'd give the edge to the Ampeg.

Sounds like you need to have a tech check, and probably replace, the caps.
