    N.C.D. Trinity Trip Top

A little late in posting as the actual NCD was a couple weeks ago, but I finally broke down and got the matching cab for my Trip Top amp and thought you guys might want to see it. For anyone unfamiliar, Trinity Amps is a boutique amp builder based in Toronto and I absolutely can't say enough...

    Ampeg tone help please.

Another thing you can try is running the 212av in parallel with a 4ohm resistor off the amp's 2ohm tap. You can get them pretty cheap on Amazon but will need to solder up a plug to it. Should effectively turn the V4B into a 50 watt amp, which may still be too loud, but worth a try.

    The current Ampeg V-4B

If you're anywhere near Cincinnati or Northern Kentucky, you're welcome to come over and try mine. I have an SVT, V4-B, and 212AV.

    DIY tube bass amp kits?

I own one of these and I'll talk it up every chance I get. Amp was a joy to build and sounds fantastic. Great people too!

    Pass on a Fender 135 (Silverface) 1980?

I know this thread is about the 135, but I recently picked up a Bassman 70 which I believe is similar in design though less powerful. It needed repair but once I got it up and running, wow. Through an SVT212AV it's plenty loud, clean, and has a really great round tone that I enjoy more than I...

    Non-Ampeg Tube Amps

Here's a vintage Bassman 70 I just got through fixing. I bought it off eBay for a great price in "as-is / untested / tubeless" condition. A blown resistor on one of the power tube sockets was immediately apparent but there were no other obvious issues. In addition to that repair I wound up...

New to tube amps, choosing the right one

I have no experience with the Sadowsky amp. But don't overlook the V4-B. I play in a fairly loud band and it's all I need most of the time. My SVT only comes along if we're playing outdoors. The new Fender Bassman's are worth a look too.

Looking for a small 4ohm cab to use with Ampeg SVT

I own an Avatar B212 NEO and an Ampeg SVT-212AV. Both cabs sound great with my SVT-CL, but I'd give the edge to the Ampeg.

    Vintage Ampeg B100 repair help

Sounds like you need to have a tech check, and probably replace, the caps.

B-15 Replacement Transformers are way too expensive!

I own one of the Trinity's. Can't say enough good things about it or the company. I was in a position similar to OP's; of wanting a B15 and possibly maybe building my own copy when I stumbled on to Trinity's website. This was a helluva lot simpler solution than trying to source parts from all...

Amp Guts Photos - Official Thread - Lets see those pics

Here's my Trinity Trip Top. I know there are prettier builds here; but I built this myself and I'm happy with it.

    NAD! Trinity Trip Top

Both interesting reads. It's worth noting, regarding the Phase Inverter, that his solutions were incorporated into the latest design as "recommended modifications". You won't see them in my photos because I hadn't installed them yet. I didn't notice any of those issues before - or after - I...

    NAD! Trinity Trip Top

I should have mentioned that. It is a very nice kit. The chassis is heavy gauge steel, mirror polished, well laid out. I didn't run into any sharp edges or anything like that. The transformers are from Heyboer and are over-spec'd - this amp will run KT88's. Everything else seemed top notch...

    NAD! Trinity Trip Top

Well, actually the NAD was last Wednesday, but I ordered it as a kit and didn't get it up and running until last night. You can find all the specs and everything on Trinity's website Trinity Amps Trip Top Vacuum Tube Bass/Guitar Amp. Obviously it's their take on the B-15 and sounds like you'd...

    HOT AMPEG NEWS! PF20T, PF50T, PF112HLF

Hey, speaking of tubes... Maybe it's been mentioned and I missed it, but what kind of tubes is Ampeg putting in these from the factory?
