I do want a dark tone and not a bright one (for that purpose I’m also on the hunt for a JBass) but also a well defined tone with lots of punch as this is for heavier styles of music (hard rock, heavy metal).

Problem solved. The issue was a wire that prevented the assembly from coming out. That tip was provided by the Fishman support team which was super responsive and helpful.

Hello friends, I have a Michael Kelly fretless acoustic bass and I need to replace the pickup battery. I pulled the tabs on the top and bottom of the preamp compartment and it only lets me pull about 5mm so I cannot reach the battery. Any advice? Thank you

Both are 150 CAD. I haven’t tried either of them but I have the bassman 100 with the 15” at my studio. Just wanted a smaller version of it which can still be heard well when playing with a drummer on an acoustic kit.
