    I put on a new set of LA Bella Deep Talkin' Bass Flat Wound strings on her bass and...WOW, what a difference. Got rid of the brightness and gave it that deeper lower bass tone I was looking for... My daughter loves the smoother feel of the flat strings, too. Thanks everyone for all of your input.

    It has a battery, so I assume it has active pickups.

    PS. I would like to set up the bass without tweaking my amp, because when she plays at church she does not go through an amp. When I use my Peavey bass, it seems to put out a deeper fuller tone. The Ibanez seems to put out a lot more high end.

    The battery was good, but I replaced it anyways. I use a Peavey Millennium AC BXP with a Peavey TKO 80 amp and it sounds quite a bit deeper than my daughter's Ibanez SR950TT with the same amp and same settings. Attached is a pic of the Ibanez.

    Thanks. I just ordered a set of LA Bella flat wound strings and am waiting for them to come in. Hopefully that will make a difference.
