That's a Music Man Old Smoothie. It was a limited batch that Sweetwater was putting out a couple years ago. Still the nicest neck I've seen but I'm kind of biased :)

+1 to the original post. Recently bought two Stingrays (Starry Night and a Sweetwater-exclusive roasted maple Old Smoothie) at around $2000. I was also considering buying one of the Bongo's in Barolo but the price hike stopped that urge real quick. In better news, the Stingray 5 30th anniversary...

Agreed. You can also see my Music Man Old Smoothie with roasted/flamed neck in the pics... they set that one up with the lowest, cleanest action I've ever had. This bass is set up similarly.

Judging by their appearance at NAMM yesterday, this certainly seems to be the case. I've only seen the American Originals, a couple out-of-my-price-range Custom Shop/Master Builds, and a 51 P bass with P/J pick-ups.

I like it. Closest we've come in years to having a 50's-era P bass! Also, I'm assuming no belly cut/arm contour since it's based on a '51?
