Reminds me of my Davison bass that you can buy on Amazon for 79 bucks. I slammed a jazz neck on it and it rocks. Very light bass and for whatever reason the pick ups are good sounding. I have no pics.

nathen, i am trying your idea. so far so good . got broken trussrod out, just the way you did. it was incast in a thin layer of black plastic. i think this is for vibration. the rod from stu mac does not have this coating. i will find out if there is any rattling of the rod coming thru the pick...
