For real. I'd be happy that they handled the dirty work.
Quitting of your own volition is always a better feeling than getting the sack, even if the outcome is the same.
Hang in there, don't dwell on it, occupy your mind with good things, stay productive. This too shall pass and the next opportunity is just over the horizon. Be ready when it arrives.

What really sucks is when you get fired when you weren't about to quit anyway...
Cos it sucks when they beat you to it. Like electracoyote said its better to quit of your own volition than to get the sack. Also I was gonna leave after the comp settled down
What did you not get from the competition? You should get whatever you were owed since you played it...
i'd recommend just about any mexican beer!
i got kicked out of a band in 1975. i didn't like the band so much, but, like you, i really didn't like getting kicked out/fired. since then: many bands, some very successful, some just filler. over the years i slowly developed a taste for mexican beer. it takes away the sting of that disappointment so many years ago.
but it has to be mexican beer. craft beers suck.

You should still be entitled to that stuff since you played the comp. I definitely wouldnt put up with that.

I got kicked out of a band once, but I didn't seem to mind at all. The last time they were on a stage, I was with them, so it wasn't bad and in no way did it discourage me. The next band I was in, the BL couldn't keep anyone in the band; either he was unhappy with them or they felt that he limited their creativity. I agree. No opportunity to interpret the music the way we wanted to, which is especially important for Bass. I ended up calling him at a time when we had no shows, and telling him I was needing to step back. It was a friendly mutual conversation, and I'm a lot more happier. I did get an EP out of it, though!

Tell me about it! I'm still pissed over the spineless weasels who fired me over a year ago. Like the OP one member was a friend also.
They didn't kick you out after you played the competition - they kicked you out *before* recording an album and shooting promo with someone that's going to fly...
