Dolly Parton died today - RIP

For several years, every month we'd find two children's books in our mailbox addressed to my wife's grand daughter through Dolly's Imagination Library.

Her philanthropy was utterly real.

A genuine One of One.

My wife got me to take her to see Dolly at Eastern Kentucky University about 10 years ago, I really didn’t care much about going, but I can honestly say I was star struck when Dolly hit the stage…I think everyone in attendance was star struck.

I was just watching her at the opening of her Bucky's-like gas station opening about 3 weeks ago!

With her and Loretta gone, we're reallll thin on real deal country girl singers.

She will be sadly missed, by all accounts a genuinly wonderful human and a pretty darn good singer/songwriter. RIP

She was exactly who she appeared to be, a whip smart, talented woman with a unique style that caused many to understimate her, but she proved them all wrong. A great entertainer, song writer, and all around decent human being who practiced what she preached. A rairity in the world, and I'm sad to see her go, and at a relatively young age by today's standard.
