Dolly Parton died today - RIP

I’ve been hesitating saying anything about this. Just too sad. Don’t want to acknowledge it I guess.

9 to 5 is one of my favorite songs to cover with my band. She was a wonderful songwriter and an even better human being. The world needs more people like Dolly.

I learned to respect her as a singer/songwriter of the highest caliber. I also learned to deeply admire her for her personal convictions and values.
Her kids book program has nothing but great accolades that i'm aware of.
Literally one of very very few celebrities I've only heard good things about, R.I.P. Dolly!!
I remember listening to the whole "Jolene" album a few years ago and being blown away by the songs, the urgency (this was her chance to really define herself as a solo artist, and boy did she), and her complete vocal control in terms of range, pitch, volume and intensity. Apparently she wrote "Jolene" and "I Will Always Love You" either on the same day, or very close to it, wow!

A hard part about getting old is watching your heroes go.
The more I learned about Dolly Parton, the more I admired her. It's usually not that way with celebrities, but I developed a deep admiration for Dolly as I learned more about her.

This is a sad day. A class act and genuinely good person.

I'm glad that the cameraman or director eventually realized they should show all of them during the 3-part harmonies.

After news broke, her music was playing on every speaker around my work place. It's amazing how much that woman was loved by almost everyone, regardless of background.
Not often I struggle to find words to do justice to someone, but I don't think I have it in me tonight. She was a true star, in every way.
