Start/join a better band than they have? Nothing gets to them like you doing better than they had to offer. This also works well in dating relationships

So you were planning on using them as long as you could, and then leave. They were using the victory as a chance to get the recording with the band with which they would proceed. If there is money involved, you are owed your share.

Making an account was long time coming anyway, and I wanted to see how others would react and what to do with the winnings from the competition that i'm entitiled to. Even though we are young we took it pretty seriously.

Hate to say it - the band won. The fair thing imo would be to pay you your share, but you are "entitled" to nothing, unless the band members had a contract.
Yeah you're right, it's just not a good move on their part imo

In the pocket n' thumpy. So woody, so greasy...
I almost got kicked out of a band. The leader told me to go listen to some Waylon Jennings and scheisse. I thought I was keeping it pretty simple with 1's and 5's, so I told him to find another bass player. Never looked back, happy as a lark.
