my favorite nods to the past is the current Toy Factory Project—the all-star tribute to Toy Caldwell and the Marshall Tucker Band featuring original MTB drummer Paul T. Riddle, Marcus King, Charlie Starr, Oteil Burbridge, Josh Shilling, Billy Contreras, and Jimmy Rector. these guys really bring it.

I think it was a rare occasion where Page sat in with Bad Company, who had an all-Ampeg backline at the time, and of course were on Zep’s Swan Song label. Plus, Mick Ralphs was fond of LP Jr’s, so that one must have been a backup. I vaguely remember reports of this happening back then.
But yes, with this plague of AI historical revisionism and disinformation, one always needs to be skeptical.

Mel was a Monster! Putting the first 3 GFR on my turntable and repeatedly lifting and placing the stylus on his bass lines is basically how I leaned to play. That and the ABB, BS&T, and (wait for it) Three Dog Night (Joe Schermie).
