Cry, I think. I still think that the pre-sandwich Euro 4s and early maple-winged Fortes are the dark horses of the Spector lineage. Also the NS-2004/2005 neck thrus. Much bang for the buck, albeit on the pricier side these days.

Very, very nice, indeed. That SN puts it circa 1984/1985. For perspective, this is nearly identical to the spec on Sting’s white NS2 (#669) less the crown inlays. Same Haz preamp, same Leo Quan bridge, same white (originally). Dots were more common in the initial runs of Brooklyn NS2s...

I’ve always been partial to dark green, which goes great with gold or chrome hardware (à la Swampy).

I went to see Steve Vai a couple of years ago and after an hour or so, it all just kind of blurred together. He’s very melodic obviously but at some point, it became a bit much. I remember commenting to my buddy who went with me that it was just too much shred for one sitting. It could...

I finally did it! US Spector time and plans for revamp.

I do love a good refin. Here a link to the work I had done to my old Brooklyn. My recommendation is to find a reputable local(ish) shop and dive in head first! https://www.talkbass.com/threads/spector-ns-2-restoration-brooklyn-1085.1158511/

The routing is different for the US bridges. But any Euro bridge (black, gold or chrome) is a drop in replacement.

I think you’ve come to the wrong place if you’re looking for help NOT buying more Spectors. Enablers abound here, myself included. It’s a sickness…haha.

These were cool to see. I’ve never actually seen any decent pics of this model, just a couple of blurry live shots. Personally, I’d rather have that weird one off NS4 with the LED lights that popped up on Reverb a week or so ago. But that’s just me.

Managed to secure an old school 9V Haz sourced from a Brooklyn. Between now and when I arrives, I need to figure out which Spector I want to drop it into. Hmmm. I’ve been Spectorless for far too long…

Bold choice with the purple. Goes great with those inlays. And props to your luthier. That’s not easy to keep the signature intact. Looks fantastic!

Some of my favorite Spectors ever were Euros, especially the late 90s-early 00s. The Czech shop was turning out some amazing stuff in that era. (Still are as far as I can tell…I just prefer the solid maple wings myself). Excellent value for the money.
