I think its down to the primer, like a thick clear coat that would probably need to be redone if it was refinished

I recently purchased a unfinished 1978 fretless P bass, original pickups and i just took off the bridge cover. (previously dark mocha but the owner sanded it down) What would you do with this unfinished bass? Would love to hear ideas! If i didnt also own this Peavey T-40 i would probably not...
