Fender Rumble 800 all day long. 13 kg and all the power you need for pubs/clubs and add an ext cab for full power, round about £800 or the 500 which is a bit cheaper and still a great amp.

Just a wee tip. If I am ever sending a bass to someone I may have sold it to or returning to a retailer, I always film it with my phone and also once I put it in the packaging. I also photograph it and the box with all the labels etc. It might seem a bit ott but it might help should a problem arise.

I just moved on a MIJ 3 band Ray as I couldn`t get a tone that I liked from it no matter how much I messed around with it. The common opinion seems to be the 3 band from around that time wasn`t set up right. Pity as I liked the bass otherwise.

They are both P bass variants and tbh I find it difficult to tell one P from another. I would go for whatever looks the best and suits my budget, you can always change the pickup if you aren`t happy with the tone.

Having owned both basses, the neck on the Tribute is more of a handful than the Vintera. The Vintera is like a 50`s P bass, 44mm width. If I was looking for a hand built German bass with a Stingray vibe, I would get a Sandberg California Central for around half the price of a Stingray and I dare say one of these Sadowsky`s. Just another option.

Update time. After much thought I bought a Fallout. Sounds amazing, quality is spot on but as was said by several posters, it ain`t exactly small. There is only about 2 and a half inches between the P bass and Fallout. So as the reason (or excuse) for getting a shortscale was not satisfied by...
