Will Fender's owners gameplan a P body-shape legal action next?

I own several Fenders and have owned quite a few in the past but this whole debacle has me really annoyed. They are a bit late in trying to stop companies making Strat type bodied guitars and to pick on smaller companies is just well out of order. I imagine that Thomann and such like will more...

    Gigging Bass Amps

Fender Rumble 800 all day long. 13 kg and all the power you need for pubs/clubs and add an ext cab for full power, round about £800 or the 500 which is a bit cheaper and still a great amp.

The Official Fender Precision Bass Club (Part 8)

The black and maple one was around £900 in the UK in that time so in todays exchange you are almost spot on at $1213

The Official Fender Precision Bass Club (Part 8)

Here is my 2008 US P bass I bought recently. I owned a black and maple version of this range in 2009 and always missed it so jumped on this when I saw it. It looks like it was never played by the previous owner, still had all the case candy and original price tag in the case, plastic still on...

The official "Show your basses" thread part 19!

Had one the same, lovely bass but weighed as much as a small house.

Fender bass : what made you choose an MIA over an MIM or vice versa?

I have owned MIA, MIJ and MIM. The US p`s were nice but I moved them on. At the moment I have a MIM Vintera 60`s Jazz which is superb and a new Player 2 P bass. The P bass has a rosewood board which had some kind of black stuff on it that I had to clean off and then I gave it a few coats of...

    Sweetwater Scam

Just a wee tip. If I am ever sending a bass to someone I may have sold it to or returning to a retailer, I always film it with my phone and also once I put it in the packaging. I also photograph it and the box with all the labels etc. It might seem a bit ott but it might help should a problem arise.

    Tips for Stingray tone/eq?

I just moved on a MIJ 3 band Ray as I couldn`t get a tone that I liked from it no matter how much I messed around with it. The common opinion seems to be the 3 band from around that time wasn`t set up right. Pity as I liked the bass otherwise.

Import Sterling Basses are really, really good. (Lesson Learned)

I own a Sterling SUB and replaced the eq and pickup with a EMG set up and was well happy with it. As the price of second hand Ernie Ball Stingrays is going through the roof, whilst I could afford one I picked up a Japanese Stingray bass. 3 band EQ, nice and light and a TB model strung through...

Does the G&L Tribute LB-100 have a baseball bat neck?

They are both P bass variants and tbh I find it difficult to tell one P from another. I would go for whatever looks the best and suits my budget, you can always change the pickup if you aren`t happy with the tone.

Does the G&L Tribute LB-100 have a baseball bat neck?

Having owned both basses, the neck on the Tribute is more of a handful than the Vintera. The Vintera is like a 50`s P bass, 44mm width. Can`t remember the nut width on the Tribute but it`s only a few mm difference. I had a natural/maple neck Tribute and whilst it sounded good, it was heavy, over...

Why Sterling by Music Man are so expensive in Europe comparing to USA?

Don`t try and buy a full fat Musicman Stingray Special then, that is really scary :D I don`t know if I would agree with you re other brands as I find them all really expensive now. I think it`s just the way of the world and it ain`t going to get any cheaper. But why the short scale is so...

    Sadowsky Metroline MM model

If I was looking for a hand built German bass with a Stingray vibe, I would get a Sandberg California Central for around half the price of a Stingray and I dare say one of these Sadowsky`s. Just another option.

    Which shortscale?

Update time. After much thought I bought a Fallout. Sounds amazing, quality is spot on but as was said by several posters, it ain`t exactly small. There is only about 2 and a half inches between the P bass and Fallout. So as the reason (or excuse) for getting a shortscale was not satisfied by...

    When upgrading is a mistake...

I`m thinking the same. I have a Player P and replaced the stock bridge with the Gotoh one that looks the same but has a bit more mass. I don`t notice any sound difference but it looks cooler! Re the pickup. My guitarist has a Player P with a 62 custom shop pickup in it and he highly recommended...
