    Deep sounding strings

Thanks for your kind answers, i learned a great deal, and Yeah, it's a faux Ripper at the end of the day, but surprisingly well crafted (Brass nut, i.e), maybe i should try those GHS Flats (i love Flats) and switch pickups for some AlNiCo 5 (or 2) pickups.

I saw Fenders 9050s, but never tried them, do they feel more stiff or just taut?

I'm gonna check pickup high as suggested, and i never messed with the wiring of that bass before.

No knobs on the amplifier, it's a Markbass with volume and VPF (?) But with the Precision or the Rick that little amp causes tectonic distress.

    Deep sounding strings

Hello fellows Bajistas, i need your wisdom and proper advice on this one: I have an Epiphone Ripper (P/J) configuration, and it's all maple (picture the weight if you Will) do to the nature of maple, and perhaps being bolt-on, or God knows why, it sounds kind of weak and the strings sound thin...

Yamaha basses-- do they get any love on TB?

I don't like the bland tone of my RBX, but i recognized the detailed craftmantship, ease of play and cool looking (specialy playing heavy stuff), also keeps in tune like, forever. If i had to buy a new Yamaha i would check the new TRBX or TRB, and of course BB, that are monstuous. ;)

Do you find basswood to be tonally inferior to alder or ash?

Yes i do, it sounds less bassy, and more scooped, with lows that lack "boom" and it has a nasal type of hights. I have a Yamaha RBX 375 with basswood, and lacks serious mids (and is even worst because the pickups are ceramics and the preamp lacks mids control), unlike another RBX (before or...

What is your go-to comfort song(s)?

Chic's "good times", "Last train to London" and, "Luminol" to kickstart the fingers. A Zen type of song that i meditate to is "Cantaloupe Island".

    Less tense Rick strings

Hehe, well to aswer your questions, my style is more akin to prog-rock, Jazz, and some heavy stuff (not too extreme), play style, i favor pluckin rather than pick, and i like the smooth feel of flats, but Dr being roundcore... The strings...

    Less tense Rick strings

Hi everyone!, I'm gonna keep this brief, and i appreciate any insights. Recently i purcheased a used Rickenbacker 4003 and it came with roundwounds that are pretty much dead, on the otherside they feel stiff, so i been wondering if i should replace them with roundcore hi-beams (people say they...
