Headphone Practice Setup / Metronome / Mixer

I’ll share my practice set up. It’s minimal cables and allows you to move around. I’ve been using the Fender Mustang Micro headphone amp. Connects directly into your bass output jack. You can sit, stand, and all around, dance, and even play outside without any cables to trip on or disconnect...

Set up order, nut height and shim

Thanks for the feedback. I put this bass together a few years ago, learned to do basic set ups and how to solder. I shied away from messing with the nut at the time but been doing a bit of reading lately and gonna go for it.

Set up order, nut height and shim

Just realizing that if the nut height adjustment comes after a shim then I would have to redo the nut if I swap the neck to another body.

Set up order, nut height and shim

Using a .022”/.559mm feeler gauge to check the first fret clearance. I didn’t think about adding new strings. Every set up tutorial I’ve seen/read starts with one but it hasn’t be explicitly mention why. Thanks!

Set up order, nut height and shim

I have a parts p bass I’d like to get in the best possible playing shape. I’m ready to file down the nut slots but curious how a shim affects the nut height reading at the first fret. Context: I’m following the Elixir videos by John Carruthers. He has a 4 step process for setting up a p bass...

Salvage Rumble 200 combo with a dead power amp

Luckily I didn't get charged anything. I took it to my local guitar shop and they have fantastic customer service. The tech said he couldn't work on it and contact Fender about the issue. My next step is to take it to a Fender Authorized Tech to get another opinion and go from there. Again...

Salvage Rumble 200 combo with a dead power amp

Thanks so much, these are exactly the answers I was looking for. @agedhorse Thanks for that bit of knowledge, not sure why the customer support agent wouldn't just send me to an authorized service center. He essentially just told me to buy a new amp. Looks like I'm going to find one locally...

Salvage Rumble 200 combo with a dead power amp

Hi, I'm looking for some advice on salvaging my Fender Rumble 200 combo amp. Long story short, the power amp is dead so no sound goes to the speaker and this amp isn't serviceable. Looking for advice on what I can do with it. Background Amp powers on and sounds good, but no sound comes out of...
