I have a Jazz Bass style bass with 70s spacing and ive done a poopon of experimentation regarding EQing Amps, Pickup height and blend, strings. I could go on, but ive realised im just not getting the tone im looking for out of that bass. Never owned a Fender but i think thats what i will need...

This one is probably quite unknown to most bassists, but on this one you'll get to hear Francis Rocco Prestia's awesome playing in closer detail. Search for his "Everybody on the Bus" Album. He even has some of the Tower of Power guys play on his album there.

Yeah it seems like youre right. Im basically on a journey to finding the basstone wyzard had on the 1979 live album. The only thing im unsure of is wether he was still using that framus or if he was using an Ambelic bass. Thanks for everyones help.
