Well, the problem has been cured. 9050s came off and a new set of chromes put on. Wow!!! What a difference. No Clangy Zingy metallic sounding ********. Just warm robust low end thump. These are going to sound amazing in about 4 weeks. Can't wait to break these in. But already 1000%...

Bought a set of chromes today. Tomorrow the fender flats are coming off and the chromes are going on along with a brand new set up. As far as Im concerned, you get what you pay for.

If you play a jazz bass with the bridge pickup all the way down and the neck pickup all the way up does the jazz bass sound more like a p bass? With flatwounds I seem to be getting that very sound but I could be wrong

I see that fender makes 1964 and 1974 vintage pickups. They are about 139.00. I don't know much about pickups as stated earlier but why go Aguilar if you could be fender made 1964 style Pickups?
