Thank you so much jose! Hopefully I can start putting it on tomorrow. Thank you RBS, I hope so too! About to spray 6th coat of lacquer on the body.

    First fretless conversion

I bought some Amazing Goop boat epoxy today for the fingerboard. The directions are for using the whole thing, but since I'm not coating an entire boat I only need to use a fraction of it. However it's not measured in ounces or any liquid measure, but says it's 2 lbs. Any suggestion on how to...

    An EUB Build

This is great! I just started rough drafting an EUB so I'm keenly interested in how you've gone about making yours. Looks amazing so far!

    First fretless conversion

Update! Kind of a leap forward since the last one. I just finished spraying the second coat of lacquer today. The back has been stained ebony and the front natural Minwax #209. The fingerboard has two coats of tung oil drying and the headstock has been stained. Hoping I can play it by the...

    First fretless conversion

Thank you! I can't remember exactly which videos but just youtube "removing frets". The method I went with was heating the frets with a soldering iron then prying them (carefully/slowly) with flat screwdriver and knife. Some where harder to get under than others and a knife was the only thing...

    First fretless conversion

Yeah I was kinda disappointed it turned out like that. But it was hard to line up since I glued the top on an existing body which covered up the neck joint. Wasn't exactly a precision process lol but oh well.

    First fretless conversion

Sorry it's been so long, been busy with work and things. I've been doing little bits at a time, but here's an update! Decided to route the pickups Here's the router bit I used to put the edge on And the results I'm almost done sanding, then I'll put a natural stain and a clear lacquer...

    First fretless conversion

I've always wanted a fretless but already having 3 four string basses and being on a budget I wasn't able to buy one. So I decided to convert my first bass I into one. It was an Ibanez GSR100, metallic silver finish. I've been working in a cabinet shop for several months now and so I have access...

    5-6 string around $400?

I got an Ibanez SR506 used off ebay for $375 +shipping. GC has similar deals on those as well, if you don't mind a used bass.

    NBD! Ibanez sr506

I hope it sells, Ibanez basses are amazing! Any tips on reducing neck dive? The weight of the bass is great for a 6 string but they took all the weight out of the body lol.

    NBD! Ibanez sr506

After sadly selling my Warwick Thumb 6 to help family with bills, I finally managed to use the remainder to get a new 6 string! Used off ebay for an amazing deal! ($375) Included the case too for extra shipping. The action is superb, beautiful neck, and great condition all...

    Eliminate noise from EL wire

I've determined that it's not so much the pickups that's getting the noise, it's the input jack. I tested this with a guitar holding powered wire and bringing the wire and power supply separately to the pickups and then the jack. The wire only affected the jack. So I'm thinking if I get some...

    Eliminate noise from EL wire

thanks for the tips guys! I'll see what I can do. I figured he was wrong about that, cause it is called copper "shielding" tape right? lol

    Eliminate noise from EL wire

So I did this to my squire the other day... And I'm getting a high pitch noise when I put power through the wire and have my bass plugged in to the amp. I know the noise is typical with the wire on it's own, but how can I stop the pickups from picking up the interference? A friend said...
