    Audere preamp failed LED?

Has anyone out there ever had the LED on an Audere preamp fail? I have the rear mount (non Jazz Plate) version. Some weeks ago the LED was acting funny. Not coming on or blinking faintly. Fresh batteries and the light started coming on again but not super bright. Now it doesn't come on at...

    Portabass replacement parts

The replacement trolley was my next option. I saw your previous post about them and tried to buy just the wheels from Penn-Elcom. No dice. I presume I would have to replace the mounting brackets. I have their site bookmarked just in case :--)

    Portabass replacement parts

Hi everyone. On the outside chance someone looks at this thread at a later date I thought I'd close the loop. I called Ampeg (thanks @agedhorse ) but they weren't able to help as they had no idea what wheels I could use. Undaunted, I kept going. Harbor Freight sells a caster that has the...

    Portabass replacement parts

After 20+ years the wheels of my portabass 112 cabinet gave up the ghost. The plastic bits literally disintegrated. Does anyone know where I can source replacement wheels? I've found non-bearing wheels that are similar but I'd prefer something more like the original. I'd like to keep this...

    OMG! Jazz!

Yes, I'm aware of the breadth of the term jazz and that it encompasses many different variants. I am also aware that mastery, or the beginnings of it, requires significant study. We are starting with everything that is in the real book as a course of study.

    OMG! Jazz!

Hello, my fellow low-is-life-ers I've played with a variety of folks, in a variety of genres, in a variety of countries and learned a bunch from every experience. One thing I never wrapped my head around was jazz. To me it was like learning Japanese (which I studied in college) because...

    Bass sound on stages

I once played in a church that was at least 600 years old. Excellent acoustics for voice but I could not hear myself or the bass drum at all no matter what I did. I ended up standing with my left leg touching the bass drum so I could at least feel when I was in time.

How have you changed as a bass player?

I used to play notes. Now I play music.

    Who has cool neighbors?

I live in Austin, TX. I could form a very good band with my neighbors. Several pro or semi-pro neighbors on my street. Our parties are epic.
