I find the best way to judge amps and speakers is to take them outside away from enclosed areas.

At modest volumes for my set up (realist lifeline and full circle on my Kay) Reversing the phase is like night and day. At higher volumes I think it is less important. It is possible that a newer walkabout is not reverse phase idk.

I haven't tried tons of amps for upright, but I think the walkabout cab is a sleeper for upright. Mostly because of it's emphasis on low mids compliments it nicely. Did you used a preamp?

Mine does not have the button cap. I payed 1500 for my bass. I considered it an upgrade from my kay. I understand the kay market may be a bit inflated. Compared to the kay the low notes are tighter with more punch. 3000 does seem high.
