Yeh I imagine the 2nd modern channel will have a decent OD capability due to the blend feature but given that, by and large, it is still pre amp gain it wont be the worlds greatest breakup. Sounds like it may be much more musical than the Mesa pre amp gain though. Ill probably try and run it...

Yep will do. Im pretty much on the fence between the SuperBassman and a Mesa Prodigy/Strategy. If anyone has compared these amps Id be grateful for your thoughts but I certainly dont want to derail this thread.

Sweet good to know - The room makes such a massive difference too of course and so many rehearsal rooms/gigs just exaggerate those lows in an ugly way, so a lot of my struggle is/was around that too. Rod are you still running the bassman with the Fender Neo?

Ampeg do make smaller sealed cabs - The PF-HE series are sealed. I have the PF115HE which is a nice smaller sealed cab. I think the 210HE is also sealed though someone else may be able to confirm this. The only caveat is that because these have a 'flip-top' that is latched down, im not sure...

Not as such. I was just looking to try some different brands on my Roscoe 6. To be honest I didnt even really consider either the taper wound or exposed core recommendations from Roscoe- I do wish that Dean Markley had made it a bit clearer that they used an exposed core on the SR2000's though.
