What bass is this, with a weird violin-like headstock?

    Thank you, that was fast!

    21 Fret Short Scale

I love my shortscale Sterling Stringray. 22 frets. Lightweight, comfortable. They list at $599, but I’ve seen them on sale often on Musicians Friend.

What’s the oddest bass part you’ve heard?

Fat Mike creates some pretty strange bass parts, like this one for example:

Anyone know what bass this is?

This is Alec Baillie from Leftover Crack, Rest In Peace. Strange multi-scale jazz bass. Bass sounded great in vids I’ve seen of him playing it.

    Do you use pedals live?

Thanks for sharing that, el murdoque. I wasn't sure what the Strobostomp was, and just looked it up. That looks super cool and useful. I've just been using headstock tuners.

    Do you use pedals live?

Thanks for the response, el murdoque. As I understand it, a compressor will control the dynamic range. I guess I just wonder, how much it's needed, how much it improves sound, and if it is in fact something I should do, and if it's pretty standard that bassists use them live.
