Took my '74 4001 to J. Kennedy's Guitar Repair in Cincinnati for a spa day. The bridge pickup needed a rewind and a few frets were overdue for some improvement. They even sold me on adding a rickysounds thumbrest bezel. Prior to the pickup repair, I had swapped out the Schaller tuners...

Used to live in Yocumtown, affectionately referred to as 'Yocumtucky'. Quite a culture change from West Philly. Just checked the Cincy GC and they have 81 basses in stock. One is a $4K Fender Custom Shop '57 P-Bass re-issue. Looks just like the one I used to play. :drool:

I kind of miss living in the Harrisburg / Lancaster / York triangle. Made it easy to find stuff within 45 minutes of home. Don't miss living in Philly. Well, except for booze runs to Canal's. :laugh:

I can still remember lifting my Sunn 2000S up on top of its cabinet. And down into my trunk. And back out of my trunk. Come to think of it, I don't miss it that much.

When I was shopping for a P-Bass in January, the MSRP jumped $50 overnight at every retailer. Glad I snagged mine when I did. Same thing happened with a Boss effects pedal I had in my Sweetwater cart. Fortunately, I found the same item from a an Amazon merchant who hadn't read the price...

What is bourbon, but sweet water?

Mine is hanging on the wall. With Schaller strap locks, I will be removing the strap any time it needs to go in the case.

If I recall correctly, it was listed at 9 pounds, 7 ounces.

Thanks all! Some folks don't seem to care for the gold hardware but my eyes see it as a nice compliment to the bourbon burst finish. I am smiling every time I walk past my music room. Money can't buy happiness. But it can buy new basses, which is pretty much the same thing.

It's been a long time coming... I've had a Fender bass on my wish list for many, many years. Back in the day, I was able to borrow this '57 P-Bass from my drummer's brother and enjoyed playing it along with my Ric. Lousy picture but it still brings back good memories. In my last band...
