Where did the string break, near the bridge, nut, or post? What kind of style/aggression were you using? Not meaning to be a jerk, but E strings are phone cables. P.S. You may need to have nut or bridge filed... any roughness there can definitely cut a string. That you've had no problems...

I made this mistake *ONCE* while changing strings in haste... it was the last time I ever made it!!! String sounded like an undercooked waffle!
